The Regeneration Project Fellowship
Description for 2011:
• Organizing, outreach, writing, research, database, blogging.
• Assist in drafting communications pieces, websites, and print.
• When appropriate, represent the Interfaith Power & Light (IPL) campaign at events.
• Assist with a a national campaign, brainstorming the theme and drafting the message and goals.
• Assist with developing the IPL youth program, evaluating curricula and reaching out to youth groups to adopt the program
• Research national and state legislation on global warming and energy policy as requested.
• Assist with drafting messages to elected officials.
• Help with outreach for Carbon Covenant (connecting with faith communities internationally on the front lines of climate change), ShopIPL (a store for energy-efficiency products, and Cool Congregations (a congregational carbon footprint calculator)
Skills required:
Good communication skills are essential. Basic computer skills such as Word, Excel, and Power Point. Web skills, familiarity with advocacy and environmental issues also helpful.
Unique opportunities:
Getting to know not only how a national interfaith organization works, but also gaining exposure to the 30 state Interfaith Power and Light programs. Helping organize grassroots online advocacy. Working with our founder, the Rev. Canon Sally Bingham, and being part of a dynamic, fun, and creative team. Helping to build a religious response to global warming.
