people publish, converse and share content online. With over 500 million active users, spending an average of 55 minutes a day on Facebook alone, faith leaders around the country are asking for the skills to interact with their communities in this new way.
Workshop participants explore how to increase communication with members of their church and community, as they:
- Receive hands-on tutorials with Facebook, Twitter, blogging and YouTube
- Learn to identify and hone the purposes for engaging social media
- Explore examples of congregations using online technology well
- Identify which social networking media works in their context
- Discuss the theological and ecclesiological implications of this age of social networking
Beatitudes Society Social Media Workshops are designed to serve local clergy as well as students and faculty of seminaries. Local sponsorship of each workshop provides a networking space where established and emerging leaders can interact.
