The Beatitudes Society is an educational organization that offers our network of progressive Christian leaders a variety of informational resources about the critical issues of our day. We are not an advocacy organization, meaning, we do not take particular policy stands, but we do work to inform faith leaders about issues that would reflect the teachings of Jesus as expressed in the Beatitudes.

When examining public policy, we ask “Who is poor? Who is mourning, or meek, or hungering and thirsting for justice? And who is being persecuted?”

We also ask “What does it mean to be a person of mercy, a person who sees God, a peacemaker, or one who is persecuted?”  We further ask; “What spiritual practices nourish us for the work to which we are called?” When it comes to public policy, the answers are rarely left-or-right, but the questions always ask us to speak on behalf of those who are “the least” among us, those who have no voice.
