Seth Bledsoe

2007-2008 Convener, The Divinity School at Wake Forest

I am a second-year divinity school student at The Divinity School at Wake Forest University. I have aspirations of becoming a professor. I feel that God has called me to a life of ministry and the vocation in which I am to fulfill that call is in academia. I hope to get my PhD in Hebrew Bible with an emphasis on Ancient Near Eastern History and Languages. I joined the Beatitudes Society this past year because I felt the thing that I was missing the most while I was here in divinity school was real, tangible ministry. Social justice work and care for those less fortunate, I feel, are the most important ways in which we, as people of God, can take part in the kingdom of God here, in this world. The Beatitudes Society encourages other seminarians, like myself, to take an active role in these kinds of issues both now and in their future ministries. I look forward to being the convener of the Wake Forest Chapter next year. I hope to lead our small group of ministers to a life that embodies the truths embedded within the Beatitudes.
