When I came to the GTU last fall I never thought that I’d find exactly what I was looking for: an organization that helped progressive Christians get connected with each other and get involved in social change. When I began attending Beatitudes Society meetings I realized that there was an answer to the Christian Right and their machine. My prayers had been answered. I jumped at the chance for a summer fellowship and my work with The Regeneration Project these past few months has been a key part of my experience with progressive Christianity.
My plans are to finish my MA in Ethics this coming spring and then begin PhD work in the same field the following fall. While my life will be academically oriented, I will continue to be an active figure in the progressive Christian agenda in whatever ways I can. The Beatitudes Society has not only been a great place to develop my personal network among like-minded others but also to explore the, at times, tenuous marriage between politics and religion. I look forward without reservations to another year of what the Beatitudes Society has in store for my work and my faith.
