NETWORK Fellowship Description

Description of Work:

NETWORK, a National Catholic Social Justice Lobby, welcomes women and men from any faith background who are interested in sharing in our mission of lobbying, educating and organizing for economic and social justice. Fellows and interns at NETWORK have the opportunity to work with staff on several aspects of our work, including researching issues, communicating with our membership, developing advocacy strategy, and lobbying on Capitol Hill.

Skills Required:

Awareness of the political world and the need to change economic and political systems to be more inclusive. Good research, writing, computer, and telephone communications skills.

Unique opportunities provided by this internship:

In 2009, NETWORK is looking increase the level of engagement in the political process among our members, and also recruit new activists. We do this through several communication vehicles including our magazine, our website, our e-mail alerts, and ongoing conversation with our members. The fellow would have the opportunity to learn how to lobby on Capitol Hill, and also learn how to educate and motivate people around the country to be effective citizen lobbyists.
