Human Rights

icon- Human Rights

Blessed are those who hunger for justice. We seek to build that Beloved Community named by Martin Luther King Jr., where all God’s children might flourish, and obtain, as Jesus said in the Beatitudes, the kingdom of heaven. We believe that kingdom begins here on this earth, in the time God gives us to act, reflect and pray. As Christians we are called to ask, whenever it is time for public policy decisions: who is being hurt, who holds power, what might I do for the one shoved to the margins, and how did they get pushed to the margins in the first place?

Looking to get involved?  Here are two great programs for moving people of faith into action.

JustFaith Ministries provides programs that transform people and expand their commitment to social ministry. Through these life-changing opportunities, members of a church or parish can study, explore and experience Christ’s call to care for the poor and vulnerable in a lively, challenging, multifaceted process in the context of a small faith community.

United Church of Christ's Justice Leaders Engaging and Developing
The vision of Justice & Witness Ministries is of a more just, peaceful and compassionate world that honors all of God’s creation.  To achieve this vision, leaders are needed throughout our churches and communities.
