Heads, Hearts, Hands

From the Executive Director

The Beatitudes Society Annual Service Learning Trip

This month we are announcing our First Annual Service Learning Trip "HEADS, HEARTS, HANDS". Not only is this another great opportunity for our student members to deepen their understanding of social justice ministry, but this trip offers alums, faculty, and friends of The Beatitudes Society the opportunity to share the experience. We will gather on the Gulf Coast June 10-15, to practice what it means to be "prophetic Christian witnesses" - that is, we will see, we will tell the truth about what we see, and we will work for change.

Join us as we help each other discover what it means to be, as the prophet Isaiah said, "repairers of the breach, restorers of streets to dwell in." (Isaiah 58:12). Interested? Click HERE for more information and to register.

In Christ's Peace,
Anne Howard

Heads, Hearts, Hands

You are invited to practice what Jesus preached: house the homeless, feed the hungry, care for the suffering.

Spend five days with your head, heart and hands building God's justice in a disaster area.

The Beatitudes Society Annual Service Learning Trip makes prophetic witnesses of seminarians, academics, lay people and clergy.

What's a prophetic witness? It's someone who sees what 's wrong in society and dares to speak up and act for change, dares to dream God's dream of justice on earth.

Becoming a prophetic witness for God's justice is a life transforming opportunity : This will make a difference for the people of the Gulf Coast, and for your life in the days to come.

This Benedictine experience of daily work, daily worship and daily learning will put your faith into action and transform you from the inside out.
