Georgia Interfaith Power and Light Fellowship
Description of Work:
• Organizing, outreach, writing, research, database, blogging.
• Help arrange speakers at events to present about GA IPL
• When appropriate, speak at events on behalf of GA IPL
• Assist with outreach to campus ministries and other youth
• Research national and state legislation on global warming and energy policy as requested
• Help our Education Committee research and write faith based environmental curricula
• General office work: answering phones, filing, photocopying, mailing
Skills required:
Good communication skills are essential. Basic computer skills such as Word, Excel, and Power Point. Web skills, and familiarity with advocacy and environmental issues also helpful. A personal faith practice that they are comfortable talking about.
Unique opportunities:
Getting to know not only how a state wide interfaith organization works, but also gaining exposure to the national network of approx. 30 state Interfaith Power and Light programs. Meeting and networking with environmental advocates throughout Georgia. Being part of a dynamic, fun, and creative team. Helping to build a religious response to global warming.
