The Story of Stuff. Or, get me off this crazy ride!

The Story of Stuff is a movie written by Annie Leonard who coordinates the Global Alliance for Incinerator Alternatives. It received very positive reviews one of which you can read here.

I enjoyed the 20 minutes spent watching this short film and have to admit wishing that the segment on the culture of consumption was longer.

Changing the culture of consumption, which was identified in the movie as the engine behind the problem, is central to the solution. I enjoyed the 20 minutes spent watching this short film and appreciated the focus on changing our culture of consumption.

We can't be reminded often enough, in my opinion, that the things (literally, the objects) we wealthy few count as blessings are funded by the suffering of many who are poor. This is the bread and butter of Luke 6:20-26! If ever there was a task more suited to Beatitudes-inspired Christianity, this is it.

I was impressed to see that this project was funded in part by the Tides Foundation which was on the donor list when I worked for LA Voice - PICO and seems to fund mostly all causes I support! Seriously folks thank you and don't ever change!
