• Map out judicatory/regional diocesan events where we might want to send a speaker to talk about IPL
• When appropriate, speak at events on behalf of IPL
• Assist with the annual 'Spotlight on Global Warming' film recruitment process: draft content for website to offer a film for screening in congregations in Fall of 2008
• Assist with outreach to campus ministries and other youth
• Research national and state legislation on global warming and energy policy as requested
• Assist with letters and other communications with elected officials, including setting up meetings.
• Assist with follow up from national IPL conference
• General office work: answering phones, filing, photocopying, mailing
Good communication skills are essential. Basic computer skills such as Word, Excel, and Power Point. Web skills, familiarity with advocacy and environmental issues also helpful.
Getting to know not only how a national interfaith organization works, but also gaining exposure to the 25 state Interfaith Power and Light programs. Helping to implement our online advocacy program. Working with our founder, the Rev. Sally Bingham, and being part of a dynamic, fun, and creative team. Helping to build a religious response to global warming.
