Applicants should have strong written and verbal skills, attention to detail, a passion for working on global justice issues, have knowledge of issues of debt and economic globalization. Experience working with faith communities and social justice organizations is highly recommended. Familiarity with computer programs such as MS Access, Excel, and Word, is desired, and the ability to work as part of a team is necessary.
Fellows can expect hands-on experiences such as: daily interaction with our network of progressive faith groups, denominational leadership offices, and advocacy partners in D.C; opportunities to meet with professionals from partner organizations like Sojourners, Bread for the World, the ONE Campaign, Network, AFSC, and TransAfrica Forum, among many other advocacy and church aid organizations. Because of our strategic location in DC there are endless opportunities to attend panels on policy issues, congressional briefings, and lobby visits to Capitol Hill. While fellows are in DC we encourage them to take advantage of these opportunities, and to meet with organizations that they might wish to work with in the future.
