• Outreach: Assisting the Green-Collar Jobs team with reaching out to allied organizations and the general public about campaign developments, events, and ongoing activities. This may include representing the Campaign at public forums.
• Research: Assessing green business growth areas in the Bay Area and California, evaluating public policy options that hold potential for expanding green-collar jobs, and researching training programs that are preparing people with barriers to employment to enter green sectors.
• Administrative: Helping to build the Campaign’s information systems, responding to public inquiries, and providing logistics support for events and other activities.
• Planning and Campaign Development: Participating in regular team meetings, strategy sessions, and planning discussions (usually at least twice per week).
• Highly organized, self-motivated.
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
• Familiarity with internet and archival research methods.
• Campaign and event organizing experience a plus.
• Commitment to sustainable and equitable community development.
• Campaigning alongside experienced social justice / green economy organizers.
• Meeting influential activists, change makers, and social entrepreneurs.
• Participating at regular conferences, events, and public forums.
• Working at the intersection of social justice (building opportunity for low-income folks and communities of color) and environmental sustainability (advocating green jobs solutions that move us away from the pollution-based economy)
